Lower costs, warmer schools

Date : 29-04-2025

Tatiana Ghurgiș, the director of this Kindergarten in the Moldovan capital says their children are warmer and learning better thanks to renovations supported by an E5P grant.

Cracks in the walls and wooden window frames meant freezing draughts interrupted classes. But with insulation, roof repairs, and new thermal substations, they have been able to reduce heat consumption.

The school expected to save a quarter on the energy bill but in the end it was twice as much.

This is just one among 19 schools that we helped as part of a wider energy efficiency project that is keeping 5,000 children and their teachers warm in the Moldovan capital, Chișinău.
