Description

NEFCO and Sweden/Sida have together with the Ministry for Regional Development, Housing, Construction and Municipal Economy of Ukraine  established the funding facility DemoUkrainaDH, with the objective to fund environmental sustainable and energy efficient demonstration projects in the district heating sector in Ukraine. DemoUkrainaDH assists Ukrainian district heating entities to improve energy efficiency, cost effectiveness and environmental sustainability by implementation of affordable and innovative investments. The facility provides a combination of grants and loans to finance investments in innovative, replicable demonstration projects, and technical assistance to project preparation and implementation.

Improved Energy Efficiency in provision of District Heating Services, reduced fuel consumption and consecutive CO2 emissions.

Regulatory issues related to among others technical norms and standards in use in Ukraine, approval of investment programmes and tariff setting have shown to be critical issues in the implementation of almost all demonstration projects.
