Kotayk and Gegharkunik Solid Waste Management

E5P Grant Agreement for the EBRD Kotayk Solid Waste project was signed on 30 June 2017 in Yerevan. The agreement was signed by Vardan Aramyan, Minister of Finance of Armenia, Angela Sax, Acting Head of EBRD Armenia and Ewa Manik, E5P Principal Fund Manager in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Energy of Armenia, Hayk Harutyunyan and representatives of the E5P contributors from the Czech Republic, Lithuania and Germany.
The E5P grant of EUR 2 million will complement the EBRD loan and finance transfer stations, waste collection and transfer trucks, waste containers and other specialised equipment. The total investment cost is EUR 11 million. The project will deliver both social and environmental benefits for the population living in 12 municipalities of the Kotayk and Gegharkunik regions and adjacent rural areas.
