Launch of the New Bus Fleet for Tbilisi

The launch of the new buses for the city of Tbilisi took place on 30 September. This is the first E5P project in Georgia!

The event was attended by the Government of Georgia, representatives of the E5P donor community, Tbilisi residents and media. The Mayor of Tbilisi, David Narmania made the opening remarks, followed by speeches delivered by the Minister of Finance of Georgia, Nodar Khaduri; Janos Herman, Ambassador of the European Union, Martina Quick, Ambassador of Sweden and representatives of EBRD, E5P and the German company MAN supplying the buses. After the speeches, the Mayor of Tbilisi handed over the keys to drivers. The guests and journalists were taken on trip around the city to test the new vehicles, which display the logos of the financiers: the EBRD, EU and E5P and a slogan stating “Modern Buses for a Modern City”.
