Signing of the E5P Grant Agreement for Mariupol Trolleybuses

E5P grant and EBRD loan agreements for new trolleybuses in Mariupol were signed on 6 July 2018 in Kiev. The project is financed by an EBRD loan of EUR 10 million and E5P grant of EUR 3 million. The city of Mariupol will received up to 75 modern, low-floor, energy efficient and environmentally friendly trolleybuses, which will improve mobility, ease the life of the local population, in particular the large number of internally displaced people (IDPs). Additional benefits will include: bus route optimisation, modal shift, cleaner air with significant GHG and CO2 reductions. The City of Mariupol is a signatory of the EU Covenant of Mayors committed to reducing its GHG emissions by at least 20% by 2020.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Ukrainian Ministries, European Union, Sweden, Poland, USA and IFIs.
