Grant signed! Cleaner water from Lviv to the Baltic Sea
Date : 18-07-2025
With many displaced people now living alongside Lviv's 900,000 residents, improving the water treatment facilities here is essential.
At last week’s Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome, an E5P grant agreement of €6.5 million was signed to upgrade of Lviv’s wastewater system, alongside funding from EBRD, Nefco, Denmark, Sweden and others.
There are also cross border benefits – the project will help protect the Baltic Sea’s fragile ecosystem.
With international support, Ukrainian cities can recover and rebuild despite the continuing war.
