Grant approved! Safe learning for over 1,000 children.

Date : 12-08-2025

In early 2022, Ivankiv Lyceum 1 – the main school in the area – was hit by Russian artillery fire.

Severely damaged and without a bomb shelter, it’s been unusable ever since. For more than three years, children here have had limited access to regular schooling.

With a €5 million grant from the E5P fund, the school will be rebuilt as a modern ‘Nearly Zero Energy Building’ (NZEB).

It will provide a safe learning environment for over 1,000 pupils, including children with disabilities and those displaced by war – a symbol of hope for a war-torn community.

This project is led by Nefco - the Nordic Green Bank and supported by E5P donors, in collaboration with Ivankiv Village Council.
